You also have the option of composite wood shutters. This is also a great way to go since they last a heck of a lot longer than any other wooden shutter. Composite custom exterior shutters require way less maintenance, they don’t fade like normal wood shutters do. In my opinion, they don’t quite have the uniqueness that comes with a standard custom wood shutter. I’d prefer custom made shutters anyways, the composite wood shutters usually come pretty standard, and as they do have options, there are not nearly as many compared to other types of shutter. Personally, I believe that quality made custom wood shutters can turn any home into a masterpiece.
